How to Fit in Time With Your Girlfriends

Once you get the kids up for the day, the race begins. From that point, your day is filled with laughter, tears, exhilaration, sleepiness, naps, eating, fatigue, and finally, sleep. Whether you are a woman who works outside of the home, a mom who works at home, a homeschooling mom, or a stay-at-home mom, you hit the ground running as soon as you wake up and don’t slow down until you go to bed late at night. That doesn’t leave a lot of time for yourself, let alone for your friends. Here are a few ideas for spending time with friends while also spending time with your kids:

Play Dates

If you have a friend who has a child that is similar in age, get them together and let them play. You can do this in either one of your homes or out at a place where there is ample play gear. Here’s the magic of this— the kids will occupy themselves playing with toys and you two can sit and talk.

This is not only great for your mind, but naturally, for your health and your body, also. Take a look around to find a gym that also offers daycare. The kids will be occupied and you and a friend or two can take a yoga class or run on the treadmill side by side. Working out with a friend is also a great way to have fun and stay motivated.

Grocery Shopping

Yes, food shopping. Everyone has to do it. Why not start or join a shopping club where you and your friends or family go shopping together? There will be more eyes on your children while you pick up the items you need, and more opportunities to chat. This is not only a fun way to do a weekly chore, but it’s also an effective time management tip for working moms.

Neighborhood Walks

Getting the kids outside in nature is something that parents try to do when the weather is nice. Walking around the neighborhood or on trails is a great way for kids to burn off some off that energy! It’s also the perfect time for you to get in a couple of minutes chatting with a good friend.

Try these ideas for ways to spend time with your girlfriends and enjoy the renewed sense of self you’ll feel after just a couple of minutes of conversation. Looking for more ideas on spending time with loved ones? Follow our blog for lots of ideas, DIY tips, and beauty tricks!
